Jorge Masvidal is ‘absolutely willing’ to replace Gilbert Burns and face Kamaru Usman for the UFC welterweight world title on a week’s notice.
That’s according to his manager, who insists ‘Gamebred’ is ready and willing to live up to his moniker.
Burns was forced to withdraw from the main event at UFC 251 after contracting coronavirus to leave the main event on July 15 on Yas Island in serious jeopardy.

However, reports have emerged suggesting Masvidal could well step up and save the day.
According to Ariel Helwani, manager Abraham Kawa has confirmed the BMF champion is ‘absolutely willing’ to step up and take the fight on a week’s notice.
The UFC desperately tried to book Masvidal against Usman earlier in the year, targeting the first week of July for International Fight Week.

But the challenge posed to any welterweight by Usman is a daunting one; the ‘Nigerian Nightmare’ is ranked No.6 on the pound-for-pound rankings and has lost just once in 17 professional fights.
